The Falkirk Stadium is a football stadium in Falkirk in central Scotland, which plays host to the home matches of Falkirk. The club moved to the stadium in 2004 after Brockville Park was sold tosupermarket chain Morrisons.
Only two sides of the ground, the west and north, have been completed to date. The Falkirk Stadium has been implicitly criticised by Celtic manager Gordon Strachan, who said that "some of our games that are shown live to the world with nobody in the stadium, or stadiums with two stands - it's not the best."[1]
In January 2008, it was announced that funding had been secured for construction of a 2,000 seat stand at the south end of the ground. Construction was due to start in April 2008, but this has been delayed.[2]
The stadium company has sought additional revenues by hosting Scotland rugby union youth level internationals.[3] Falkirk manager John Hughes has commented that the pitch has been damaged by playing rugby at the stadium.
