Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium (Turkish: Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu) is the home ground of the Turkish football (soccer) club Trabzonspor. It was built in 1951 with a capacity of 2,500 only. With several renovations in 1967, 1981, 1994-1998, and 2008, Trabzonspor's stadium reached the capacity of 19649 today.
The stadium is named after Hüseyin Avni Aker, a teacher and regional administrator for education, who served during 1940-1944 in Trabzon and contributed much to the local sports.
The stadium has been renovated in 2008 with new tribunes which surround the pitch in a rectangular plan.
Trabzonspor is planning to leave this stadium for a new 40,000 capacity stadium that is scheduled to be built by 2011.
